Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Extreme Sickness And Involuntary Moaning Upon Intake Of Donepezil?
I ve tried Donepezil HCL twice along with Memantine HCL and Melatonin and this time along with thyroid medicine and I ve had a very bad reaction each time: extreme sick feeling, inability to do anything, and ill feeling that caused involuntary moaning. Can you give me insight into these reactions?
Based on the history you have shared, it can be due to extrapyramidal side effects or anticholesterase-related side effects, and needs to be stopped immediately and should be reviewed by prescribing neurologist or psychiatrist.
The involuntary movements or moaning etc needs to be evaluated after stopping drug and if persist may need repeat brain imaging.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Saddiq Ulabidin
