What Causes Extreme Soreness While Urinating?

yes, lately I have been experiencing soreness when I need to urinate. the soreness is located just below my penis and I believe it is my prostate. I have had issues before. I was wondering if my diabetes and meds especially Invokana might have anything to do with this? I have an appointment with a urologist in my area next month

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Pain or soreness on urination can be due to different possible causes. The most common is infection of some aspect of the urinary tract.

The urinary tract includes the prostate, kidneys, ureter, urethra, bladder.

It is not likely related to the medication mentioned.

An urine analysis would be needed, any further investigations would depend on the results of the history, examination and urine analysis.

I hope this helps
