What Causes Extreme Swelling Below The Waist?

I have extreme swelling from the waist down. My skin is literally stretched to the limit. I have been on a diuretic off and on for months. I have taken one everyday for the last 4 days. My hands are also swollen in the mornings (which is the reason I got the diuretics). I had to cut my wedding rings off 2 weeks ago and you can still see the indention where they were. I have only been married since March 18th. I had major back surgery about 12 years ago.

Hi,

Usually the causes of body swelling are renal or heart problems and Lassix OS given. In your case the dose of Lassix should be elevated. Talk with your doctor.
