What Causes Extremely Dry Scrotum?
Hello. 2 weeks ago I spontaneously noticed that my scrotum was extremely dry. I then began to apply hydrous emollient and mometasone furoate, which reduced the dryness but it is has not yet completely gone. Currently, I have noticed that the area of dry skin on my scrotum is much looser and less elastic than before, and still dry whenever I do not apply vaseline to it. I find that I consistently have to apply vaseline to the area to keep it moist because the area dries up extremely fast. What could the problem be?

Dry skin of the scrotum can occur due to environmental factors, allergic reactions but can be triggered by heat or irritants(latex condoms/spermicides). Other medical conditions causing dryness of scrotal sac skin is eczema or dermatitis, it causes the skin to become dry & scaly.
Scrotal eczema can spread to the anus, between buttocks & on the penis. It may become a chronic problem with skin becoming leathery & thick. You are suggested to get clinically assessed by a dermatologist. You will be treated with antihistamines, oral or injectable corticosteroids depending upon the severity of the infection.
Wear loose fitting cotton clothes, take regular showers, wash the area with soap & water. Maintain Hygiene. Keep the area clean & apply hydrocortisone ointment.
