What Causes Extremely Pale Irish Skin?

I have extremely pale Irish skin, which I m pretty sure contains almost no melanin apart from the melanin that makes up my freckles. My skin burns very easily and the burns always last super long. Even just being in the sun (when it s strong) for more than half a minute causes me extreme discomfort that borders on pain, and it s not from the heat, it s the UV rays. I would describe it as a burning sensation. Is this a real problem that people have or am I just being dramatic? What is this called if it s a real thing?

Hi!! It has been seen that persons who have extremely fair skin are 100 percent susceptible to sun burn. You are having the same problem and it is photosensitive rash. You should avoid going out in sun during the peak hours when uv light has maximum intensity like from 10 am to 2 pm. Also make use of umbrella, sunglasses, hat and stole whenever out in sun and use high spf sunscreen at intervals of 3-4 hours during the day time. This will definitely help in reducing the occurrence of sun burn.
