What Causes Extremely Sharp Pain Around The Spleen Area During Periods?

Whenever I get my period I get pains around my spleen area which I know one would think would be cramps however my cramps in the past have never been this sort of pain or in this spot on my body. They are sharp and incredibly painful lasting up to 3 hours and the only thing that relieves it is lying in the fetal position where as no medication seems to help I m worried that because the position of the pain has changed there may be something wrong internally that I should be aware of.

I really appreciate your concern, it is the symptoms of dysmenorrhea and it is common in menses, you have not mentioned your age, it may be some time age related, for side ultrasonography is advisable, hope this information helps.
