What Causes Eye Pain And Discomfort?

I wear contacts and last night when I took one of mine out, my eye started hurting. I went to sleep trying to ignore it, and woke up to find it still hurting. No it won't stop watering and it hurts when I blink. It looks like a blood vessel in the bottom of my eye is really red. What could be the cause, and how do I get rid of it?

Ophthalmologist 's  Response
Hello
It seems from the history that you are having eye pain, discomfort and pain in the eye following use of contact lens.
This requires evaluation by a eye doctor as this can be contact lens related problem like corneal infiltration.
The treatment is by use of antibiotic eye drops and avoiding the use of contact lenses till the symptoms are relieved.
Since this can cause corneal ulcer this requires evaluation and treatment by a ophthalmologist.
Hence I advice you to consult your ophthalmologist for evaluation and treatment accordingly.

Thank you
