What Causes Facial Acne While On Levothyroxine?

I started taking the thyroid med 100mcg of Levothroxine when my labs came back that my TSH was 10.29. After 4 months my blood work was done yesterday and came back it is now .66. My question is that my face has been breaking out with acne and I was wondering if it might be that I am taking too much even though my level is within range but low?

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Yes, you are taking an excess dose of levothyroxine at present as your TSH level is way below the normal range. I would advise you to consult your physician and immediately get your dose decreased to the minimum.

It should be as low as 25 micrograms. It is a possibility that your acne breakouts may be a result of excessive Thyronorm leading to hormonal imbalance.
