What Causes Facial Numbness And Burning Mouth Syndrome After Discontinuing Clonazepam?

When slowly going off clanazapan I experienced bad twitching of hands, fingers, leg kicking out while sitting,flashing of light when closing my eyes, face numbness, burning mouth syndrome . I was told my brain fires to fast. So does this mean I am stuck on this medicine? I was put on it because of numbness and twitching and had. Every test three times

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain all the symptoms that you are experiencing that is twitching of hands,fingers,leg kicking out, light sensitivity, face numbness and burning mouth syndrome are all appearing to be due to withdrawal symptoms of Clonazepam as it is a stronger drug belonging to a group of drugs known as Benzodiazapines..

The withdrawal symptoms gradually weans off as the time progresses but in case if symptoms are uncontrollable and severe you should consult a Physician and he can advise you Medical detox therapy along with it you can also be given Cognitive Behavioural therapy and Counselling sessions for relieve from the symptoms..
