Hi,

Numbness and pain are due to developing goiter which causes nerve damage. It is a sign of peripheral neuropathy. Hypothyroidism also causes numbness in the area of the nerve damage. The symptom will subside as soon as the medications are started.

Thyroid dysfunctions (hyper and hypo) lead to chest pain, other causes of chest pain are gastritis/heartburn, angina, hypertension, acute pancreatitis, etc. Get a cardiac checkup and screening tests done to rule out any developing coronary heart disease.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
