Hi..
Can understand your concern..

As per your complain Trigeminal Neuralgia is considered as one of the most painful conditions and it can occur due to a number of conditions like compression of nerve by an artery , trauma like accident, any tumor compressing the nerve ,aneurysms etc..

The episodes of pain can occur even with a strong gush of air and loud sounds and the pain episode can last from few seconds to minutes to hours..

In this case the first line treatment is the drug Carbamazepine which is an anticonvulsant and is found to relief in patients..

While there are some other drugs as a second line treatment like Baclofen, Gabapentin,Oxycarbazepine, Phenytoin, Lamotrigene, Sodium Valproate etc can be relieving..

There are surgical techniques like Microvascular decompression,Gama knife radiosurgery and glycerol injection which can be done for long term relief but efficiency can decrease with time .

Microvascular decompression is seen to give longest relief..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards..
