What Causes Facial Spots With Redness?

I am a mother of a 2 1/2 yr old who this morning I noticed spots on his face. He is not vx against mmr yet. The spots look very small redish brown are not raise and are only on the face. slightly reder than freckles. any clue as to what it is and should I be conserned?
