What Causes Facial Swelling In A Toddler After Accidental Swallowing Of Vaseline?

My two year old may have swallowed Vaseline (100% pure petroleum jelly - Unilever). This accident happen at about 2:00pm (EST) on Tuesday, June 6th. Today (Wednesday, June 7th) at about 7:00pm (EST) we observed some swollen in his face (cheeks and around his eyes); could this be possible cause if he did swallow the Vaseline?

Hi,

It could be an allergic reaction to it. You should take him to the ER. Mostly they will prescribe some antihistamines.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
