What Causes Facial Twitching In A 58-year-old?

I’m a 58 y/o white male with no known issues other than an uptick with cholesterol for which I take statins. For the past week I’ve had a weird slight twitching on one side of my face starting below my left eye down to my upper lip. Any idea what might be causing it, and or should I go ahead and see my primary physician for this matter? Thx.

The symptoms are suggestive of something called hemifacial spasm.
Treatment is required only if symptoms are severe enough to disturb your daily activities. Treatment includes drugs like Carbamazepine and Topiramate and in severe cases botulinum toxin injections may be needed.
