What Causes Faint Buzzing Spasm In Right Thigh?

Hi, what could be the cause of a rhythmic, faint buzzing feeling in my right thigh? It seems to be deep near the bone, possibly along the area near the main femoral (?) artery. I am in great health / shape and workout regularly, both cardio and weights. I notice it when I am at rest mostly, the period seems to be a 2-3 second buzz , then a 8-10 second dwell period until the next. What on earth is this???

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello

As per my clinical experience, the issue of buzzing spasm involving one thigh may be in relation with episodic irritation of the underlying nerve endings or fine terminals of Ruffini or Merckel disc at microscopic levels.

In my clinic, after thorough clinical examination, if required I may opt for the evaluation with electromyography and nerve conduction study to evaluate it in greater details.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
