What Causes Fainting After Standing For Some Time?

I gave blood two days ago, and the next morning (16+ hours later), I fainted in the middle of class. I had been standing for several minutes already, I had eaten about half an hour previously (and the night before), and I felt fine the morning of. Any ideas on what may have happened?
