What Causes Fainting And Vision Darkness In Elderly?

This has never happened before, I am 68 in good health but every once in a wile I feel faint and my vision turned black and I feel myself becoming very weak ,just then I return to being ok and my vision comes back , what could cause this ? ----------------------------------- Marie

Hi Marie,
The symptoms which you describe can be called as syncopal attacks, in which there is momentary unconsciousness, with blurry vision, followed by complete recovery with in seconds.
This commonly occurs when we suddenly stand up, called as postural hypo tension. It is also seen in people who have low blood pressure, and heart problems.
I suggest you can have it properly investigated by an internist.
