Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My heart rate gets extremely fast(around 150beats/min) after I take a bath and stand up. It stays like that for about 10-15 minutes after a bath whenever i am standing. I also feel a little dizzy. I have to sit and lie down for a while to bring it back down. I also notice dilated blood vessels at the back of my hands as I stand up whenever my heart rate is high. Is this something to be concerned about?
You need a detailed cardiac check up for your high pulse rate with little physical effort. Although, there are many reasons for tachycardia (high heart rate), in your case aparently they are not occuring in resting state. So, causes like Thyrotoxicosis do not appear in your case.
Have you checked your Haemoglobin level recently? Anaemia may be one reason.
Certain cardiac conditions may cause tachycardia on effort. Hence, an ECG (Resting and on Exercise) and an Echo should also be checked to rule out a cardiac cause.
