What Causes Fatigue After Taking Clonazepan?

Clonazepan, .5mg three times a day . Very fatigued after morning dose but not so much after second and third dose. Only been taking for 10 days. Exercise early in the morning and have cardiomythopy and 70 years old. Fatigue doesn t allow me to do anything else thru the day. YYYY@YYYY

Thanks for contacting with your health concern and following is recommended guidelines:

1. Clonazepam is an anxiolytic (used in panic disorder) and an anticonvulsant (used in epilepsy) and the symtpom which you have mentioned i.e. FATIGUE is common ADR (adverse drug reaction) of the drug, and apart from it drowsiness,muscular hypotonia,coordination disturbances, dizziness,vertigo,anorexia,visual changes, and may also produce diminshed reflexes and coma.

2. Talk with your attending doctor for any other substitute or take tablet mentat (himalaya) or tablet brahmi vati (baidyanath) which are free from side effects

3. Since suffering from cardiomyopathy talk with a cardiologist regarding your heart status since low ejection fraction can also be a cause of fatigue.
