What Causes Fatigue Along With Breathing Difficulty And Palpitations?

I m a 34 yo, Female that just got blood work back and it showed three things off, CO2 = 21(L), Anion Gap = 20 (H), & EGFR = 57 (L). I don t have a follow up for two weeks, but am still very fatigued, get out of breath easily, and have palpitations and I m unsure if I should ask for more testing to be done before my next appt or if I just need to wait until the appt.

Hello,

your eGFR level and the acidosis pattern are concerning as they might indicate renal disease. Getting out of breath with renal disease might mean that your kidneys are not able to excrete enough fluids. I suggest repeat testing with urea, creatinine, arterial blood gases and clinical examination. Depending on the results you might have to see your doctor right away! Perhaps the best way to investigate shortness of breath (and also do the aforementioned tests) is visiting the emergency room.

I hope I've helped! You can contact me if you need further information.

Kind Regards!
