Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Fatigue Along With Vomiting Body Chills?
My wife is experiencing very low energy levels, chills, tiredness, and recently short bouts of vomiting. She has a history of thyroid problems, was hypoglycemic now diabetic. There is also an hiatus hernia in her stomach which limits her food types. She used to be energetic in mornings, now low energy for most of the day. She eats fruits & vegetables regularly, some meats as well. She is also on certain meds for stomach & sleeping.
Hiatus hernia in itself may be the root cause of your complaint. It is a common cause of difficulty in swallowing, frequent regurgitations and vomiting. It is not the kind of food but how [through the food pipe] the food travels to be digested in stomach that is the problem here.
Her fatigue may be the result of poorly controlled Diabetes. Just check her liver function tests -the liver enzymes and the Bilirubin and avoid Metformin if the liver functions are compromised. That is a common cause of overtiredness of Diabetics even is Blood Sugar is well controlled. When you give sample for Liver function tests, go fasting 10-12 hours and give sample for her Fasting blood sugar too.
For high energy levels the foods that need to be included are the Berries and Cherries. These have enough Phytochemicals to keep you active throughout the day.Limit her red meat intake too as diabetics are prone to high blood Uric Acid too-another cause of fatigue.
Regular exercise will help too.
All the best.
