Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
As per your clinical history is concerned there are many disorders responsible for fatigue and shortness of breathing and AF is one among them. Fatigue and shortness of breathing is a common problem, if it is permanent then you need a treatment for it and treatment is based upon underlying pathological causes responsible for it. Doctors should look at two points like reset of heart rate and prevent blood clots in the future. So, first try with drugs if not possible with medications then discuss with your doctor regarding electrical cardioversion and after it you can take medications like Dofetilide. For prevention of blood clots you may be given Warfarin regularly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Uday Nath Sahoo
