What Causes Fatigue And Chest Pain While On Atenolol?

I started taking atenolol 25 mg. tablets on Saturday to control irregular heartbeats ....I have been feeling very weak and have pulse rates of 48-53 everytime I take my bp and heart rates. I have been logging them for three days. I also have experienced chest tightness, and pain and blurred vision. Is it OK for me to just stop this treatment on my own? I feel awful!! I am a 63 year old woman.

Ya you should stop the medication if blurred vision is troubling you but chest tightness that you are feeling may be due to partial blockage of an artery supplying blood to heart.so i advise you to kindly get your bp,sugar & ecg done at the earliest and you may take ccb class of drugs for your irregular heart beats or for that matter any other group of antiarrythmic drugs based on your ecg.
but for that i need your ecg.Hope you get to a clinic & get your ecg done & follow up.
Best wishes
