What Causes Fatigue And Dizziness When Suffering From HIV?
I have a 50-year old client who is HIV positive and on treatment. A few years ago he was involved in a motor vehicle accident and sustained abdominal trauma. He had to undergo a splenectomy and several other laparotomies to treat enterocutaneous fistula. He had a complicated and prolonged recovery. At present he continues to complain about fatigue, reduced sitting tolerance, and dizziness. He was employed as a mechanic but could no longer lift heavy items therefore had to resign. I want to know to what extent his current complaints and reduced physical capacity is related to the accident only, or his hiv, or a combination of the 2?
The fatigue and dizziness when suffering from HIV is seemingly related to vitamin deficiency most likely as there is previous history of multiple enterocutaneous fistula treated via multiple surgeries. Kindly get basic lab panel evaluation for hemoglobin, B12, Methylmelonic acid levels for further guidelines of management.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
