Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a 64 yr old friend who complains of being extremely tired, sleeps a lot, has low energy, experiences shortness of breath upon limited exercise, and lately has chills that come and go. He has also begun to shuffle when he walks. His symptoms seemed to develop slowly over time, but are getting progressively more severe. His doctors suggested he has encephalitis, and he also has had a mass in his brain partially removed. This does NOT sound like encephalitis to me. Does it to you? What other possibilities do you suggest the doctors might consider?
Taking into account your friend's case : - past surgery for brain tumor removal - currently extremely tired, low energy, shortness of breath.
To me, this is a case of possible tumor relapse. Get him checked by a neurologist as might required ct-scan or MRI of the brain to see if the presence of the tumor.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Albana Sejdini, General & Family Physician
