What Causes Fatigue And Weakness Inspite Of Being On Water Pills?

My father was prescribed to take 6 water pills on a daily basis due to his kidney problems. I am so worry as he became very fatigue and weak for the past week. He also began to have red spots all over his body. His situation drastically deteriorate within 1 week. Is there any other things we can do to ease this situation?

Yes, take him back to the clinic and have his blood drawn and electrolytes checked. I cannot comment much since I don't know his history or what stage kidney problems he might be in. The first thing I thought of though is dehydration. Most older people do not drink enough fluids in the first place and then combined with 6 water pills - ck with clinic to see how much fluid he should have and then show your father and make certain he drinks his prescribed amounts. I cannot comment on the red spots but he needs to see his doctor since such a fast deterioration. Individuals with kidney problems are generally prescribed a special diet, is he on one? If not, why not? You can prevent kidney deterioration by following the correct diet for the stage of kidney disease he is in. If his problems continue and they don't give you a diet, please see a dietitian to get some help. Thank you.
