What Causes Fatigue, Cough And Popping Sound At The Back Of The Nose?

Hi there. I have been sick the past few days, fatigue, chest pain, coughing, exhaustion. When I cough, there is a fizzing type sound coming from my throat. If I lie down, occasionally I can feel one or two little pops in the back of my nose. Any suggestions?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

It sounds as though you have mucus running down the back of your throat which also joins with the back of the nose. Most likely due to a viral upper respiratory infection.

Taking a mucolytic (guaifenesin) and lost of water might make it feel better. If no contraindications, a decongestant (pseudoephedrine) can help too.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Bonnie Berger-Durnbaugh, General & Family Physician
