General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Vitamin B12 deficiency may cause anemia, which is the reason why patients may complain of fatigue.

Furthermore, vitamin B12 deficiency can be due to a low intake of vitamin B12 (which can be treated with vitamin oral B12 supplements) or due to problems with vitamin B12 absorption in the bowel. In the last case, oral intake of Vitamin B12 may not suffice to treat vitamin B12 deficiency but injections may be needed.

This may be the reason why your symptoms continue and vitamin B12 deficiency is not definitely treated even though you are taking oral supplements with B12 vitamin.

I hope this answers your query. I remain at your disposal in case further medical assistance is needed.
