What Causes Fatigue While On Gabapentin?

Off of alcohol,Ativan and ambien. But still on gabapentin. I have been clean for six months now but am now, fatigued at times and want to take deep naps in the middle of the day. At times my vision medium blurred and then sleepiness hits in. Is this, gabapentin. 1 x 3 times a days is what I am taking. This has just come on in the past month. When I first got sober, I had a new found energy. Thank you

Hello! Welcome to HealthcareMagic!

Gabapentin is in a drug class called anticonvulsants. Gabapentin is used in people who have epilepsy to control certain types of seizures. Gabapentin works to reduce seizures by reducing abnormal excitement in the brain. Gabapentin works in relieving pain by altering the way the body senses pain. As it reduces brain getting excited, it causes dizziness and sleepiness.

Take care
