What Causes Fatty Liver While Suffering From Multiple Sclerosis?
Hello Dr. Rynne, I am a 55 year old female with Multiple Sclerosis and have just had a scan showing that i also have a fatty liver and gallstones. Not surprised about the liver as I have a poor diet, am overweight and don t get exercise anymore. As to the gallstones 2 recent blood tests showed elevated liver enzymes and my GP wanted the scan for gallstones. I was not having any pain to indicate gallstones, but that was her 1st guess to rule out. During my scan the tech mentioned something about an abrasion on my right kidney ? not sure what that might have to do with this if anything at all. How do the liver, gallbladder & kidney tie in together? Cheers, Lois
Multiple sclerosis won't cause fatty liver. It may be due to alcoholism or due to fatty diet with sedentary lifestyle. Avoid spicy food and alcohol avoid smoking and caffeine drinks. Use tablet Idilve twice a day for one month.
Low fat diet may useful. Kidney lesions please mention clearly. Use anti-hyperlipidemic drugs. Please consult your gastroentrologist he will examine and treat you accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
