What Causes Feeling Disoriented And Highly Agitated With Hallucinations?
My 91 year old mother suddenly has become totally disoriented, doesn t recognize some people, highly agitated, and hallucinates. A UTI has been eliminated. She had a high white blood count and has been treated with antibiotic. Her MRI determined she had a very small stroke a week or so before these symptoms started. She was dehydrated when she arrived at the hospital six days ago, but the confusion remains and the agitation at times. What is wrong with her?
Stroke itself cause disorientation. So get it done serum electrolytes, urine culture and sensitivity, seum b12 level. Control blood pressure, control infection in the blood, use neuroprotective agents like citicholin twice a day for five days. Inj B12 may help. If symptoms not improved please consult with your neurophysician he will examine and treat you accordingly.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
