What Causes Feeling Of Air Being Knocked Out Of Chest?

Yes sometimes iam just sitting down then all of a sudden if feels like something hits me in the top of the chest more towards throat but iam berating fine hearts beating fine it s like I either lose air but I don t then I panic it just scares me a lot then I control my breathing been to a doc for it even the doc says she has the same thing that nobody really understands y it happens she said something that s starts with a p and it s every so of then It s like the wind knocked out of me for a second one time it hit and felt like I was going to pass out had to flap my arms in order to maintain from passing out

Hello dear, thanks for your question on HCM.
I can understand your situation and problem.
Your symptoms are more suggestive of anxiety.
But better to rule out cardiac and pulmonary causes first.
So get done ecg to rule out cardiac cause.
Get done chest x ray and PFT ( pulmonary function test ) to rule out pulmonary causes.
If all of the above are normal then no need to worry for major diseases.
Anxiety appears more in your case.
So better to consult psychiatrist and get done counselling sessions. Try to identify stressor in your life and start working on its solution.
You may need anxiolytic drugs too.
Avoid stress and tension.
Be relax and calm. Don't worry, you will be alright.
