I have this feeling of a lump in my throat, it goes away when I drink something or eat something. I also feel like I have to keep swallowing to get it to go away. It is okay first thing in the morning and then progressively gets worse throughout the day. By night time I have a hard time swallowing food.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of having feeling of having lump in throat which could be due to granular pharyngitis, sore throat, gastroesophageal reflux disease, enlargement of cervical lymph node and due to other systemic conditions such as reactive hyperplasia, lymphoid hyperplasia and any malignant pathology. Need not to worry. Avoid taking large meals at a time and take small and frequent meals. I would suggest you to visit ENT specialist once and go for examination and ultrasound study to find out extent of lesion. You should go for fine needle aspiration cytology or biopsy of that lump to find out the nature of lesion. You can start treatment after proper diagnosis. Maintain proper oral hygiene. Do warm saline gargles . Avoid excessive cold carbonated drinks.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
