What Causes Feeling Of Lump Below Collar Bone While Swallowing?

Hello, When I swallow it feels like a lump a little below my left collar bone. I m breathing and eating ok, just the strange sensation that almost feels like an air bubble. It started about yesterday morning. I do have trouble with acid reflux. What could it be?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello
I really appreciate your concern
Looking at history this could be regurgitated stomach content in the food pipe ( oesophagus)

Another possibility is zenkers diverticula which develops due to weakness of a muscle of neck wall leading to formation if pouch which may collect the regurgitated food content and produces gurgling sounds

please visit your doctor for detailed examination

You can minimise acid reflux by adopting few life style modifications like
don't lie down immediately after food
avoid alcohol and smoking
avoid fatty fried and spicy food or carbonated drinks
you can take PPI group of drugs like omeprazole and antacids

Hope this answers your question
Wishing you good health
