I have Hashimoto s thyroiditis and i had what felt like a lump in my lower throat.. The doctor did a physical exam and noticed two nodules so sent me for an ultrasound. The result came back that the thyroid as a whole was hyperemic and heterotophic in background appearance. The left lobe contained two nodules which he then sent me to an ENT to do a FNB (it was not ultrasound guided). Right now, usual symptoms of hypothyroidism are present (extreme fatigue, dry hair, but in the last couple weeks, I haven t been able to sleep on my back or side, or put my chin down as it feels like air is restricted (I m assuming from pressure on the trachea?... My question is, what does this sound typical of, thyroid cancer, a goiter, etc... (I know we don t know until the results are in, but I just want from past experience what you have seen in cases like this). I m not an over reactor, I just wish I had more info or know the prognosis of cases that were similar to mine.
