What Causes Feeling Of Something Stuck In The Throat?
After eating lunch. I have felt like there is something stuck in my throat. It feels like I need to cough it something up, but nothing comes up. I have been belching, and have a little heartburn. The sensation of something I my throat has been offand on for about 9 hours.
Feeling of something stuck in the throat, and also has a history of belching and heartburn is pointing towards acid reflux or GERD. It leads to the excess mucus formation and also coughing. You can take proton pump inhibitors like Omeprazole or Pantoprazole. Take antacids like milk of magnesia half an hour before meals. Avoid spicy food and drink plenty of water. Always take walk after meals and take your dinner at least two hours before sleep. You should sleep with head slightly raised as compared to feet. If it does not improve, I would suggest you consult an emergency room and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like upper gastrointestinal (GI) endoscopy if needed can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly.
