What Causes Feeling Of Something Stuck In Throat During Pregnancy?

Hello Doctor, I am only in my 9th week and this past few days it feels like there s something stuck in my throat and tonight, the throat is starting to hurt. I ve been reading and doing what s recommended like gargling with salt water, staying away from spicy spice, but wondering if anything else can be done and if this is fairly common or something to worry about non pregnancy related. Thank you kindly Molly

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello Molly
I had gone through your question diligently and I can understand your concern

This can not related to pregnancy, You might be having URTI like Pharyngitis or throat infection
Please continue with the warm saline gargling
Do steam inhalation
Avoid cold drinks
Have lemon water and citrus fruits
Have multivitamin supplements B complex and vitamin C
In my opinion you should see your family doctor for examination and a battery of tests like Blood for hemoglobin and CBC

You may require a course of antibiotics under supervision of your doctor
Hope this helps you
wishing you good health
