Hi, recently, it has been feeling like there is something sticking into my vagina and it hurts to walk when it happens... It happens on and off, generally a couple days after my period. I m still in high school and I haven t been sexually active before and I ve never had anything - save a couple tampons over the past few years - in there. I don t really know how to explain what it feels like, other than that it feels like something sharp is poking me. I m only worried because it always happens around when I ovulate and sometimes directly after my period is finished... There are no bumps or anything that I can see or feel, but I m still worried.
You have a feeling that something is stuck in your vagina. No bumps. You are not yet sexually active. You are suggested to get clinically examined by a gynecologist, sometimes such symptoms are commonly seen when an old tampon is left in the vagina. It should be removed by per vaginal check up as it can cause infection if left there.
Yeast infection can also cause symptoms of stinging, white discharge, irritation of the vagina. It can be treated with vaginal suppository like Monistat to be applied in the vagina on alternate nights to reduce infection. Irritation can also occur from soaps, feminine products or douches with discharge and itching.
Do not douche, do not use scented soaps or feminine products as this can cause irritation. Take care of your hygiene. Change clothes everyday and do not use sex toys, avoid self pleasure for a couple of days. Wear soft cotton clothes and stay away from addictions if any.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
You are suffering from discomfort because you have sensation of something stuck in the vagina. Your symptoms are indicative of tampon left in the vagina that is causing discomfort. Get clinically examined by a gynecologist. If tampon is there, it should be removed otherwise it will cause infection and toxicity. Other medical conditions that can cause similar symptoms are PID, BV, UTI, injuries due to rough sex.
You are suggested to get urinalysis (R/E and C/S) done. If infection is detected, it is treated with a course of specific antibiotic. Avoid rough sex. Before penetrative sex make sure you are wet so that you don't hurt your private parts. Avoid the use of sex toys. Stay away from any sexual activity or self pleasuring till you are being treated. Get PID or any other hormonal problem treated. Stay away from addictions if any.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
