What Causes Feeling Of Something Stuck Inside Throat?

Hi I have this constant feeling on the left side of my throat that there is phelgm or something there. With constantly clearing my throat so much so that I sometimes get hoarse...this started about 4 weeks ago with I had viral infection, but has not cleared up..the coughing has finally subsided and I don t have a sore throat or ear pain..just this nagging sensation of something in my throat...my father had oral cancer of the tonsil..So is this anything to worry about?

HI,
Welcome to healthcare magic.
With the limited history provided by you there could be two two reasons for your frequent throat clearing.
One, this could be secondary to acid reflux.
Second, this could be due to postnasal discharge secondary to sinus infection.

In case of acid reflux, You need to take proton pump inhibitors in empty stomach and avoid taking spicy and junk foods.

In sinus infection, you need antibiotics, steam inhalation.
