What Causes Fever After A Head Injury?

Hi, My 2yr old son fell down a flight of stairs while his brother was watching him yesterday. I was told he did not hit his head and tumbled down in the all 4s position which is also how he landed. He cried hysterically afterwards but then was fine and began playing. I noticed he is limping a little today on his right foot. There are no signs of swelling, bruising, or redness anywhere. Its been over 24hrs and he now has a fever. I am worried this is related to his fall. He is still talking and playing a little. He ate and drank and slept fine last night and today but now he really doesnt want to. Could this be a virus or related to his fall? Please help. Thank u

HI
Well come to HCM
I really appreciate your concern, in pediatric age of group if it is the history of injury due to fall then it need to be sent for clinical examination and it should never be taken as granted, here the fever could be due to infection it may be viral or bacterial and it can not be due to fall it would be very less likely still better to take care of that too and see the pediatrician hope this information helps.
