My son is 15. He has had a fever for two days. It goes away with pain reliever. 100-101. He has had decreased appetite, fever and chills, tired, headaches, sore lower back and neck. He has a sore throat. No nausea. Just noticed this evening that he has a rash on his chest. ??

Hello,

Decreased appetite, fever, body aches, fever and sore throat are an indication of viral infections. However bacterial infection can also lead to such symptoms.

Rash after fever subsides is noticed in viral infections like roseola on the chest and typhoid-like salmonella typhi in which a peculiar pink rash is noticed on the chest.

Don't worry still I feel you take your son to the paediatrician for further evaluation and to find the proper cause of the rash. So that it can be addressed properly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
