What Causes Fever Along With Body Chills And Nausea?
yes age 69 male with fever on/off 101.4 now and slight chills and nauseous since Mon. a.m. ---84 hours now.Might it be pneumonia. I think I was dehydrated for several weeks only driving coffee on new driving job. Got some orange chicken soup and put organic broccoli in it an hour ago. Drying more water the last 24 hours.Supposed to be driving jog tomorrow.. Just started to get energy back a little bit.
It is possible that you are fighting off a viral illness. The most common viral illnesses would be the cold, flu or related to the GI tract (gastrointestinal tract- stomach bug). The use of paracetamol/ tylenol, would help with the fever and any aches and pains that you are experiencing.
If the nausea is severe then pepto bismol may help, dramamine can be used when at home because it can make a person drowsy so you would not want to use it while you have to drive.Rest and continue the use of fluids as well.Pneumonia would normally be associated with a severe cough, if you do have a very bad cough, then it would have to be considered and you would need to see your doctor for assessment.
I hope this helps. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Michelle Gibson James
