What Causes Fever Along With Cough And Neck Pain?

My wife has been sick for over a week now -- fever, coughing a lot, sore neck and back. She had a blood test two days ago. It came back negative for Lyme but she had an ESR rate of 90. The doctor asked her to come back in in a week for a second blood test. How worried should this make me? I should say her fever has seem to have gone away since her blood test.
