What Causes Fever And Cough Along With Abdominal Pain In A Baby?
Hello doctor ,My son is 1year and 4 months old and weights 10.5 kg and is now suffering from fever (ranging 100 to 105) ,cough, abdominal pain and watery stools in a gap of 3 to 4 hours,my doctor has prescribed dolodart 120mg/5ml, Drotin -DS 20mg/5ml and xymex drops is these medications OK ?
This probably indicates some gut infection. This is most of the times caused by a virus and settles itself in a few days. So no specific treatment is needed.
We just treat it symptomatically and the drugs given to your kid is quite right for the symptoms control.
Give him more fluids and wait a few days. Generally it settles in few days.
However, if he gets very sick or if things don't settle in a few days then you should seek medical advice.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Mahboob Ur Rahman, General & Family Physician
