What Causes Fever And Nausea Despite Taking Zithromax For Acute Tonsillitis?

I was diagnosed w/ Acute Tossillitis a couple of weeks ago. I m prone to strep throat this time of the year for the last 3 years. They said strep test came back negative but prescribed me Zithromax z-pak 250mg, it was all good a week later but energy was never back 100%...occassionally I would feel very sluggish at the end of the day. Today I have a fever 100-101, throat feels fine but I m still weak and fatique (heavy head). Is it possible tht the Zithromax wasn t strong enough and it came back. For the past 3 years they always prescribe me Omoxicillan. Thank You. Angie

This sounds more like the flu rather than a recurrence of the tonsilitis and instead of more antibiotics you should ask your doctor for a prescription for Tamiflu
