What Causes Fever And Night Sweats After Stent Removal?

10 days ago, my husband just removed a stent from a kidney stone. The last 2 nights he has had a low grade fever around 7pm and then in the middle night he gets night sweats. He wakes up and feels great, no other symptons. So what is causing the fever?

Hi
I understand your concern.

From the history provided it is likely your husband has developed an urinary tract infection folowing stent removal which is a known complication of the procedure.

Please provide a sample of urine for culture at your doctors office and start on antibiotics as trimethoprim or co-amoxyclauv until the results are back.
You could take paracetamol 1gm four times daily, drink adequate fluids and also take cranberry capsules or juice.
