What Causes Fever And Red Bumps All Over The Body?
My 9 month old has done nothing but scream and cry since yesterday morning. she won t eat and has been running a fever between 100.4 and 100.8. I had taken her to her pediatrician yesterday afternoon and he said everything looked and sounded good. Well, about 15 minutes ago I noticed these red bumps that looks like pemples that are red all over her. Her hands, face, arms, legs, and her bottom and her other area. Is this something that could be causing her the fever and fussiness? Should I take her to the emergency room?
Fever with erythematous and maculopapular rash on the 3rd day in a 9 month old child could be due to viral illness. Most probably measles and other differential could be German measles. The rash takes time to settle down, adequate hydration, breast feeding, anti-pyretics for fever and supportive measures are recommended. Can be managed on an outpatient basis.
Take care
