What Causes Fever And Stiffness In Neck?

My daughter has a 102 fever and a stiff neck. My first fear always goes to Meningitis. She did vomit the night before last but nothing since then. No light sensitivity. Her attitude is great, she seems fine and says she feels fine except her neck. I know this can be the flu with achiness. Any other indications or something to ease my mind?
