Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My 7yo daughter has been battling a fever for two days. It keeps going up to 104 degrees. She has a one white spot on her tonsil, but also has an intermittent stiff neck and knees. Even with the fever, she has cold feet, and a bad headache. She is very tired, and does not want to eat anything. The neck problem made me think of meningitis, but the white spot makes me unsure.
In patient having high grade fever with neck stiffness , meningitis should be ruled out. the symptoms do not correlate with only one spot on tonsil. she should be admitted in hospital to do blood investigations ( CBC etc) and spinal fluid examination should be done. She need intravenous fluids and antibiotics as she has poor oral intake.
