Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Fever And Swelling At The Injection Site After A Shingles Shot?
I received the shingles vaccine 3 weeks ago. A few days afterwards, I had a slight fever, along with redness, swelling, and a rash at the injection site for few days. Pain continued for about 10 days. I felt lethargic and slept a lot during that time. I thought everything was OK now. However, this evening a blister-like thing popped up suddenly in my armpit. It is not itchy, but is sensitive to my clothing rubbing it and is painful when pressure is applied. Could this blister be a delayed side effect of the shingles vaccine?
Hi there I look forward to help you out with your query, as you said u received the vaccine 3 weeks ago and the effects like fever, pain, redness are all produced because of the effect of the vaccine that is due to inflammation so you need not to worry about anything in particular and your concern regarding blisters it's just side effect of pain and Pain is due to that only.. It varies in some patients from moderate to severe because of the effect of the vaccine produced.. So my advice is you don't need to worry just relax and you will be fine by next week
Thanks
Regards Dr Varun
